“We have always understood the high demand for the G-Class worldwide, and we decided to break into this market when we opened up shop back in 1999,” Artur Aleksanian says. “Currently, we are on our second-generation body kit production. Our first kit has sold all over the world. Not to mention we have also shipped to many reputable customization shops, such as West Coast Customs for their own builds.”
They introduced their second-generation G55 body kit at last year’s SEMA Show, calling the vehicle, “The Copper Edition,” with the build taking about six months to create. Thanks to the huge success of their G55 styling, all of their kits are now being compared to other G-Class tuning programs produced from storied tuners like Brabus, Mansory and Lorisinser. “There’s a lot of positive feedback on our kits, with the majority of compliments pointing out that they look as nice as those from other reputable and high-end manufacturers,” Karen Aleksanian adds.
Some highlights include the custom panoramic roof glass, which Artur says has never been done before; the custom carbon fiber hood with its two-tone finish; and the leather “Melon” plus Alcantara gray finish within the interior.
Currently, “The Copper Edition” is touring the world as an example of AKA Europort’s tuning packages and overall work. They’re also in the design stages of a third-generation G-Class body kit, as well as in production for their own carbon fiber hoods for the G-Class.
