"They feel like it's okay to put you on the tabloid covers to sell your image, to use you in an SNL spoof," West said, according to an observer. "We don't negotiate. We're not like that. We're not stupid."
While West offered praise for other guests as well — "The combination of powers… can make the world a better place," he said of one table — he ultimately returned to Kardashian, calling her the "ideal celebrity… the ideal art." The rapper's fond words echoed back to his toast at the couple's rehearsal dinner (casually held at the Palace of Versailles outside of Paris) where he said, "Kim's way more beautiful than I am talented."
West and Kardashian began dating back in the spring of 2012, and welcomed their daughter North "Nori" West into the world in June 2013. The rapper proposed to the reality TV star in characteristically extravagant fashion in February, renting out San Francisco's AT&T Park and hiring the Chicago Symphony to play while the Jumbotron spelled out, "Pleeease Marry Meee!!!" The couple's wedding was equally over-the-top, with the weekend festivities reportedly featuring performances from magician David Blaine, Lana Del Rey and John Legend.
