As part of the specialized programs and services offered by the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California, the SCDFC created the first summer camp for children with sickle cell disease (SCD) in 1967. For 48 years, we have provided a memorable camping experience for thousands of children with SCD.
Camp Crescent Moon is provided by the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California for a nominal registration fee while
the total cost for a child to attend camp is $1250.
Parents are asked to pay $50 per child but many are unable
to due to the current economic climate.
Donations are accepted year round to support the program.
The Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax deductible by law.
